Flinders Lane Project is an iconic project for the Townsville City. It all began when one of our
long term local Builders Martin Locke purchased one of the buildings in the CBD.
His plan was to demolish the existing building to make way for his vision of Flinders Lane.
The lane encompasses a open public space for people to sit and enjoy local talent and take In the tranquil surrounds owned by the local city council, as well as a restaurant precinct owned by Martin Himself.
This project was designed with the existing City Lane in mind, to be able to continue on the entertainment and food hub for the city.
This project featured two separate spaces that were required to work in sync with each other.
The lighting had to be on point and required many nights worth of work to monitor lux readings to confirm it complied to council and Australian standards.
The Halo lighting control and programming needed to be learned. The RGB stair strip lights were linked for football game nights and entertainment evenings to sync to local events / specialised holidays. e.g. green for ST Patricks Day
One of the other technical aspects is that we had to change the design to incorporate 12 volt specialist task lighting due to minimum height restrictions.
Martin gave us full electrical design capabilities with this project.
